Interviews and Analysis
M. Sheridan - By conducting interviews with seven deaf children, ages 7-10, Martha Sheridan offers a fresh look at their private thoughts and feelings. Each child possesses a unique cultural background, and Sheridan communicated with each in his or her preferred method of communication. Her procedure remained consistent with each: In addition to standard questions, Sheridan asked all of the children to draw a picture based on their life and then tell a story about it; next, she showed them pictures clipped from a magazine and asked them to describe what they saw. An enlightening read from parents and scholars alike. (256 pgs, hardcover and softcover, 6" x 9") |
