Katie is an 11-year-old girl who has just moved into the neighborhood. Some of the girls on Katie's street want to meet her, but they're not sure how to "talk" to Katie because she is deaf and uses sign language to communicate. Luckily, one of the neighborhood girls knows some sign language! One day after school, the girls meet Katie, and a conversation about their pets leads to a discussion about wild animals. The result is an unforgettable day filled with new friends, wild animals and sign language learning. As a bonus, Lyndi gives the viewers a "private sign language lesson" covering the manual Alphabet, Number signs 1-20 and a review of the animal signs from the zoo. |
